I am happy to announce that IW Nation is back online after a lengthy 4 week absense.
" Members of the CoD Community,
We are very excited to inform you that after a month-long of hassles, IWNation.com has finally come back online. We'd like to thank everyone that helped get IWNation back up, and to every single one of you for your support. Just a note - we've lost some information such as members who registered in the week following January 18th. If you fall into this category, please re-register. The modders over at Operation Market Garden received a good bit of publicity from PCGamers Magazine. Go to OMG's website http://omg.esgnserver.de/ and read for yourself.
Admin Note: I am a mapper for the OMG mod and I am very proud of the write up that BDT (Beneloux Development Team) and OMG received.

| Wyatt Erp's Video Tutorials |
|
I am pleased to announce that Wyatt Erp has allowed us to be one of a very few sites that is authorized to host his video tuts. Not redirect to another site but actually have the files and offer them for direct download.
As many already know, Wyatt's video tutorials are the best thing for learning mapping in Call of Duty and United Offensive. His easy to follow instructions help you get your map up and running in a short amount of time.
Most of the tutorials can be used for either CoD or UO mapping. Some pertain to CoD only and others pertain to UO only.
Please join me in thanking Wyatt for allowing us to host his work.
"The videos are .WMV, made with Windows Movie Maker 2.0. I also used Camtasia, an excelent program to record. Except Camtasio Studio crashes more than CODRadiant. Basic videos are 101. Novice Videos are 202. Advanced videos are 303 and involves altering or creating script.
If you like what you see and would like to show your gratitude, donations are accepted through PAYPAL: getwestern@hotmail.com"

The following is posted at IWNation:
"Please be patient while we restore the web site.
It may take several hours, as re-uploading 5GB of files can be a bit...time consuming.
"Update January 26, 2005, 9:55PM Central Time Zone (USA, GTM -6) -- Presently almost all of the files are uploaded back onto the server. We're experiencing some issues with MySQL, which is why the site is not back up yet. We are working to get the issue resolved as soon as possible. Please be patient.
"Update January 31, 2005, 8:58PM Central Time Zone (USA, GTM -6) -- Prior to contrary belief, we are not dead...the SQL file is too large to be automatically reuploaded via phpMyAdmin and as such it must be done manually...needless to say, it's going to be a pain in the arse. There's other developments that may change the course that IWN takes in the near future so stay tuned - an email will hopefully be dispatched when IWN has returned.

GameSpot has released an article which announces that Activision will be releaseing a new title for Call of Duty and Call of Duty: Finest Hour! This gives us something to really look forward to indeed. Here's what they said:
Quote:Activision is planning follow-ups to Infinity Ward's best-selling WWII shooter; CEO says the series may become the publisher's "most profitable franchise."
Although today's Activision conference call disappointed gamers with news that the upcoming Doom 3 Xbox port and PC expansion have been delayed, it contained a pleasant surprise as well. Ronald Doornink, the publisher's CEO, announced that it is planning a sequel to its best-selling PC WWII shooter, Call of Duty, and its console offshoot, Call of Duty: Finest Hour.
"We're pleased to announce that in fiscal 2006 we will launch two new Call of Duty products, one for the PC and one for consoles," said Doornink. Activision's 2006 fiscal year starts on April 1, 2005. The revelation was not entirely new, as Activision first confirmed it was working on a sequel to the WWII shooter last July. While mention of the upcoming console Call of Duty was new, it was not surprising, given the success of Finest Hour, which only dropped out of the top 10 best-selling consoles games this week.
Doornink did not specify which consoles the new Call of Duty would be released for, whether it would be a sequel to Finest Hour, or whether Finest Hour developer Spark Unlimited would be developing the game. However, last May Infinity Ward posted a job listing for "seasoned next-generation console engineers to join its ranks to meet the challenge and expectations for these high-end development platforms," meaning that it will likely develop the game itself.
Call of Duty is Infinity Ward's sole game to date, and it is likely that the Activision-owned dev shop is working on a sequel. Indeed, Doornink told analysts during the call that his company has very high hopes for the series. "Call of Duty has the potential to become our largest and most profitable franchise," he said. Coincidentally, many members of the Call of Duty development team got their start working on the current highest-grossing WWII shooter franchise, Electronic Arts' Medal of Honor.
For more on Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Finest Hour, and the expansion pack Call of Duty: United Offensive, read each game's respective review.
Thats very good news indeed. You can be sure that we will have the greatest coverage of the new game just like we have with COD. Let the fun times roll folks.
