To introduce myself. my game names are various but all are variations on "Lionman" as I am a Scottish Leo.
=GG= Lionman when fighting alongside my colleagues in the Grey Guard Clan (http://www.greygaurdclan.com) in COD, COD UO, RO, BF2 GR etc.
RAC_Lionman_EF when WW1 combat flying alongside my colleagues in the Euro Flight of the Royal Air Corp virtual squadron (http://www.citigraph.com/rac/)
BBB_Lionman (from the now defunct Butcher Bird Brotherhood WW2 virtual squadron) when flying IL2, FB+AEP+PF on Hyperlobby or Ubicom or Gamespy or when playing Silent Hunter III online.
I am 60 in July 2006, have been a computer enthusiast since the very beginning (my first computer in 1976 was a BBC B) and using the Internet since the WWW stage of its development began. I was once one of only two offical Commodore Amiga consultants in London (remember that great PC?) and am currently on my 7th (rather ancient) IBM style PC which has been rebuilt several times. I urgently need a new games PC.
I am a life-long aviation enthusiast, love everything from the Wright Brother's plane to the Space Shuttle and am more or less retired but not from my creative vocations of creative writing (prose and poetry) art and photography. Online I am an utterly compulsive air, land and sea combat simulation freak.
I am fascinated by the whole issue and realm of virtuality in all its modes and very glad to be alive at a time when all this has become accessible to the ordinary person in the West. My first love is flight simulation in all its forms and I am hugely looking forward to the release of Microsoft's next iteration of its 20 year old Flight Simulator series FS 10 (or FSX) in December 2006. I long for the (immanent) return of the wrap-around visor and truly "immersive virtuality" now that we have the CPU power, graphics power and bandwidth that was lacking first time around.
I have known Dameon since we were both playing with Team-X.
